On 5 June 2025, BAUWERT AG celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the ‘Die Neue Bockbrauerei’ urban quarter in Berlin-Kreuzberg in the presence of numerous high-ranking guests. Around 200 invited guests took part in the ceremony - including the Senator for Finance, Stefan Evers, the Senator for the Interior and Sport, Iris Spranger, and Martina Klement, Chief Digital Officer of the State of Berlin and State Secretary for Digitalisation and Administrative Modernisation.

Also present were Karin Klingen, President of the Berlin Court of Audit, Birgit Moehring, Managing Director of BIM Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH, Alf Aleithe, Managing Director of Berlinovo Immobilien Gesellschaft mbH, and the architects Frank Kulawig and Sergei Tchoban.
On the approx. 13,000 sqm site in the middle of the Bergmannkiez neighbourhood, not far from Kreuzberg and Tempelhofer Feld, BAUWERT AG is building a multi-award-winning urban quarter with a broad-based, urban usage concept on the historic site of the former Bockbrauerei brewery by the end of next year. After seven years of planning and approval, not only 130 owner-occupied flats will be built here, but also urgently needed new rental flats, micro-apartments and subsidised flats for employees of the state of Berlin, among others. The ensemble is rounded off by restaurants, space for art, culture and neighbourhood businesses as well as around 10,500 sqm of state-of-the-art office space and green outdoor areas.
The quarter was designed by the two renowned architectural firms Bonanni (residential) and TCHOBAN VOSS Architekten (office/commercial).
Sergei Tchoban, TCHOBAN VOSS Architekten GmbH: "Our modern office architecture picks up on Berlin's industrial building tradition and creates inspiring working environments in the historic brewery context. Our aim was to create a synthesis of living and working environments and to seamlessly integrate the brewery's historic cellars as well as the companies and institutions already operating here into the project."
