The building serves as a connecting structure between the existing listed council chamber building and the high-rise building “House B”. For the façade of the new administrative building, a reddish, subtly variegated brick has been selected in reference to the council chamber building, creating a visual connection between the different building elements. The new development provides additional workplaces at the central administrative location and forms part of an integrated planning concept, including the associated external areas.
From an urban design perspective, the administrative building is defined by the existing L-shaped building geometry. It links the listed council chamber building with the existing high-rise at the same floor levels, thereby enabling a barrier-free connection between the buildings.
House A is planned as a fully basemented building with five to six storeys and a pitched roof. In addition, a new modular car park with 387 parking spaces arranged over twelve split levels is being constructed to the west of the existing House B.
