With the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone on 18 July 2025 OFB Projektentwicklung (OFB) officially marked the start of construction work on the new urban quarter ‘THE FRIEDENAUER’ at Innsbrucker Platz in Berlin.

The event was attended by Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, District Mayor Joern Oltmann and numerous people involved in the project, among others.

Christoph Ritzkat, Managing Partner of Kieback&Peter, was also present as the future anchor tenant. The Berlin-based family business is considered a pioneer in the field of intelligent building automation and will move into around 7,000 sqm of office space in the new neighbourhood in mid-2027.

The largely car-free area was planned by TCHOBAN VOSS Architekten. It will include modern residential space, offices, retail, a day care centre and a spacious public park with playgrounds and cycle paths.

THE FRIEDENAUER will be the entrance and crowning glory of a forward-looking urban quarter with around 21,000 sqm of modern and sustainably planned office space, a wide variety of restaurants and a comprehensive range of local amenities.
