On the former plot of its mother house in Hamburg-Eppendorf, the Bethanien Deaconess-Foundation established a new diaconal ensemble consisting of three buildings.

The buildings are covered by an iridescent red-brown brick façade, which connects the new building with its history as well as its landmarked area. The new complex accommodates living spaces for a modern nursing home, assisted living as well as recreation rooms for the Evangelical- Methodist community.

With its wave-like sections out of fare-faced concrete, the cloister in the central courtyard functions as a benchmark to the previous Mother House. The wave motive continues throughout the façade and implements this way on the dynamic of the facility.
