The building is divided into two above-ground storeys with an inserted mezzanine floor, which together form the actual IKEA store. The large, three-storey garage with its bright and openly designed parking levels offers space for approx. 1,250 car parking spaces.

The white façade cladding consists of U-shaped folded aluminium sheets, which were mounted as an open facing shell in a mesh structure on the rear-ventilated cassette walls of the blue metal façade. TCHOBAN VOSS Architekten deliberately work with varying transparency here. Due to the depth of the white sheet metal modules, the viewer is presented with façade views with different shades of white and blue, depending on the viewing angle and distance. Depending on the time of day or season, this façade interplay can be perceived differently.

Energy-optimised building technology measures were implemented as part of IKEA's ‘People Planet Positive’ sustainability strategy. The white façade modules prevent heating through reflection and thus contribute to improving the urban climate. Most of the roof surfaces are extensively greened.
