In Campitello di Fassa, in the Italian province of Trento, a gable-fronted hotel building with a timber façade is being developed, featuring a roof that extends over all storeys above the ground floor.

At ground-floor level, the hotel’s lobby and restaurant areas are arranged. Access is provided via the western gable end of the building, beneath a generously projecting canopy. The spacious lobby contains the reception, bar and lounge areas. On the mountain side, a ski storage room adjoins the lobby and provides direct external access towards the slope. From the lobby, guests enter the restaurant area, which is connected to a partially open-plan kitchen.

The roof surfaces as well as the plinth façades of the first basement level will be clad with natural stone shingles. The first basement level will accommodate guest rooms, a spa, the pool area and the hotel’s back-of-house facilities. The pool area is oriented towards the exterior and includes a partially outdoor swimming pool and a terrace. A second basement level will house an underground car park with approximately 82 parking spaces.

The building volume is modelled into the surrounding landscape, which adjoins the site at varying heights: on the river side of the building, the first basement level is fully exposed, while on the mountain side the terrain rises, and with it the building structure.
