Extension and addition of stories to the carcasses of industrial buildings
The glass structures of the three buildings are situated on the historical area of a princely park in St. Petersburg near Smolny Convent in the district Kalininsky. After the Russian revolution the distinguishing characteristics of this area were destroyed due to systematic construction of the industrial buildings. The carcasses of the buildings represent the post-revolutionary industrial architecture and were extended with two new floors. The floral motives on the façades of the glass structures are the homage to the former legendary park in his seasons. Almost the entire surfaces are covered by branches, leaves and flowers allowing a glance outside from the upper floors through the openings in the leafage.
