Ulmenstraße 36
Hamburg | 2001
"Exodus from the City" | New building of town houses 11 modern residential units in three different buildings were constructed in a, from the urban development point of view, heterogeneous surrounding with buildings from different construction phases of the last two centuries. A legally protected chestnut tree opens the otherwise densely building development along the Ulmenstrasse at this location. Under this tree a one-storey high townhouse was built on this plot. The urban development demanded an elongated construction in the depth of the building site and this was translated less monotonously through two buildings with 5 apartments each. There is an underground car park erected under the solid buildings. The residents have access to the apartments by stairwells and elevators.
